200 – Let some sh*t go

Hey mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actual podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Happy Friday mama, we are wrapping up the week pretty much where we started on Monday with the Monday MamAffirmation – “F** what others think.” And Mama’s Daily Dose is… let some sh*t go. Let’s get moving before we get interrupted.

Mama, I know you have so much going on in your life, you have so many things that require your attention that want your attention that deserve your attention. And there is only one of you. So sometimes ya just gotta let some shit go. Being able to recognize those things that just don’t need your energy or your time is key and just letting those ones go.

One of them for me has been dressing my two year old. He has been very keen on not wearing clothes, or his footie pajamas, and I only have so many and I will only do laundry so often. So the other day, we went to the local YMCA here, it was about 35 degrees out in the afternoon. And this child would not put clothes on. He took his clothes off, would not put any clothes on and I was like “Fine, You know what, let’s go. Let’s go.” He’s in a diaper, I put him in the car seat. Put the clothes in my bag hoping that you know he would decide he wants to put his clothes on. Go in there. Walk in there….literally walk in there with my naked two year old, just a diaper on… people are looking at me like this woman’s crazy. It’s 35 degrees out. I know.

But you know what? I just had to let it go. Because at that moment, it was not worth my time and my energy. So Mama, just let that sh*t go. Who cares what others think? F*** what others think.

Mama, your action today is just to let something go. What is something that has been sucking up your energy, your time and your being? That you just gotta let go. And if it’s because you’re worried about what others are gonna think, repeat that MamAffirmation too! And if you enjoy listening to this podcast, please take a moment to leave a rating and review (or like and comment on this post…and others!) so we can share it with more mamas. We can all go get our “more” and we can make this world a better place because you know what, Mama? We have so much power in this world. Have a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
