158 – How to get from here to where you want to be

Hey mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Mama that class last night was awesome, I cannot wait to see you all use your new mama mindset to achieve your goals this year. And one of the main reasons is the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be. Mama’s Daily Dose… is “mind the gap.” I was trying to do you know, a British accent, you know, they had the Mind the gap by the trains and the train station. I mean, I tried, accents aren’t really my thing. But let’s get moving before we get interrupted. 


You’re ready to go, you know where you want to be, you have that one goal, you’re getting towards it. And you are so excited to get there. And then all of a sudden, you’re like, Man, I’m all the way back here right now. And I want to be all the way over there. And that my mama friends, is the gap that we need to mind between where you are right now and where you want to be. And don’t let that discourage you. There’s always going to be a gap between where you are and where you want to be. That’s how we get better. And one of the best ways to mind this gap is to remind yourself of how far you’ve already come and what you’ve already achieved. 

 
Mama, your action today is to write down a list of at least three things that you have achieved, write down the steps that you’ve already taken this year, to work towards your goal. Write down where you were a year, a month, 10 years ago, compared to where you are now. Look at all of the achievements that you’ve already had in your life. Write down at least three but if you have time, keep going and keep this list handy. Anytime you are feeling like you are falling in that gap minded. Look at all of these achievements and remind yourself of how far you’ve already come and have a great day for you mama guilt because you deserve it.
