Maybe you’re listening to this and you don’t have a goal yet. Or you set a goal and you’re like, Why do I really need a goal? Why should I be going after this? Why should I be spending my time doing this. And Mama’s Daily Dose is… why moms need goals. Let’s get moving before we get interrupted.
There was a time about a year and a half ago, when I didn’t have any goals. I was just trying to get through the day, trying to get to bedtime, honestly, really just trying to survive and keep my sanity. I had no goals for myself nothing really outside of my kids in my house and my day to day activities. And I felt that I wasn’t excited to get out of bed. I wasn’t excited to start the day, I really didn’t have a ton to look forward to. And I realized that was because I didn’t have a goal. I didn’t have something for myself, I didn’t have something to feel fulfilled about. Like I love my kids. And yes, that is fulfilling. But there was still this space inside of me that I had everything on the outside, but something was missing on the inside. And that was something for me. You’re a mom, but you’re still you. And you deserve something for you and to go after things that you want. And here are the five reasons why moms need goals.
Five, purpose for yourself. Your kids are cool, you love them. But you need something that is for you something for you to look forward to something that is for you filling that space inside of you.
Number four, get excited, get out of bed in the morning, get something to like just get excited about and keep that fire lit about like Joe talked about in the interview last week.
Three, focus on things that really matter to you, you have a ton of crap going on your to do list is so long, and it keeps getting longer. But what on there really matters to you. Sometimes as moms, you just put things down, to be busy, we busy ourselves to be busy. But when you focus on the things that really matter to you that are going to move you towards your goals that give you that return on investment, your time your money, your emotions, your resources. That is what is going to really bring you joy, not just these things that are keeping you busy, to be busy. And check things off of your to do list.
Number two be in charge of you and your kids future. You are in the driver’s seat of your life. And if you don’t know where you are going, then you’re just going to be driving around in circles have some direction, you get to choose that direction that you want to take in your life. So what goals do you want? Where do you want to be? And who do you want to be?
And number one, be the example you want for your kids? As much as we say do as we say not as we do. We know that’s not the case with kids. They’re going to do as you do. So if you show them that you set this goal and you work towards that goal and you achieve that goal here being that example. And then your kids are going to go out and one up you be excited feel fulfilled and inspire your kids.
