152 – Why is it so small?

Hey, Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Yesterday, we talked about doing something that something is always more than nothing. So repeat your affirmation. Something is more than nothing. And Mama’s Daily Dose is… Why is it so small? Let’s get moving before we get interrupted.

Why is it so small? Why am I asking you to start off with something so small? It is because I want you to do it, I want you to think, Hey, this is so stupid. If I don’t do it, because it is so small and so achievable. To do this every single day, you may have this big goal that you’re going to reach to, and that is awesome, you do want to have a target of where you are getting to. But on a daily basis, what is going to get you to that big target are those small, tiny little steps, that compound that you can do every day that you can stay consistent with, I need you to think small, teeny, tiny, little small, like smaller than the little newborn socks that you put on your baby. So small. In the book, Atomic Habits, he uses this example of a guy that wanted to start working out. And so what he did is he just started going to the gym, and he would stay for five minutes, no matter how long you wanted to stay. If you felt like stainmore He stayed for five minutes, and he left. And once that became a habit and it became consistent. Then he went up to 10 minutes, and he left and then 15 and so on. So I want you to pick something that you are going to do. All right, that if you don’t do it, really it’s just like it’s dumb. I started this with meditating 30 seconds a day. I’m like, Meghan, you have 30 seconds a day. Everyone has 30 seconds of day. So what is that thing that you’re going to say? Why is it so small, and just do it every single day.
