151 – MamAffirmation: something is more than nothing

Hey, Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose, the short actionable podcast for mamas who want more. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Happy New Year all my mama friends, I know you are out there you are excited. You’re ready to get after your goals. holidays are over. Let’s get stuff cleaned up. Let’s move on. What are you wanting to achieve this year? Mondays on the podcast, we are going to have a theme and it is Monday MamAffirmation. So that’s mama and affirmation- MamAffirmation. I kinda liked it. With these affirmations, I really want you to repeat them. And to say it with confidence, confidence that it is already true, or that it will happen. And Mama’s Daily Dose is Monday MamAffimation: Something is more than nothing. let’s get moving before we get interrupted.

It’s the new year, everyone’s jacked, you got your goals, you know what you want to do, you’re ready to go and you just hit the ground running, you’re like, I’m gonna lose 20 pounds this month, or I’m gonna make X amount of money this month, and you are just reaching for the sky. And that is great. I love people that like really want to make things happen. But the way you are going to stick to your goal is consistency. And making sure that you are working towards your goal every single day. And that means making it manageable. As moms you have so much stuff going on. So what can you commit to every single day, and do it every single day, I want you to think of something, I don’t want you reaching for the stars. Today, I want you to just think of something that you can do today, because something is more than nothing. And keep repeating it every single day. Working out five minutes a day for seven days is better than working out 30 minutes a day, one time a week. Even though it’s about the same amount of time, you’re staying consistent over every single day. If you miss one, that’s just five minutes. Whereas if you miss your one workout for the week, that’s all of it. That’s the all the 30 minutes. Being consistent, really creates those habits so that you can achieve that big goal.

Mama, your action for today is to repeat something is more than nothing. And pick one thing that you can do today. And I want you to make it. So, so easy. If your goal is 10,000 steps a day, I want you to go out and walk for two minutes today, just two minutes, and focus on that and do that every single day. And when that’s really easy, add a little bit more, just choose something that you can do every single day because that is more than nothing.
