131 – Sweat the small stuff

Hey mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Happy Monday, Mama. And we are just moving through December. And I know your to do list probably has a crap ton of stuff on it. But with the theme of December, make sure you take some time for yourself. So if you have to, put you on that to do list as well, and Mama’s Daily Dose is… sweat, the small stuff. Let’s get moving before we get interrupted

There’s that saying, don’t sweat the small stuff. And I agree with it when it comes to those things like, I don’t know, my kids socks matching, I’m not gonna worry about that, and waste my time and energy on that. But the small stuff you do want to sweat are those small little actions to get you towards your goals. Let me tell you, I had the goal of wanting to meditate for years, years upon years. And this year, I decided to just make it so small that it would be stupid not to do it. So I started meditating 30 seconds a day. Alright, and I focused on that because you know what it was like, Meghan, that is dumb if you don’t sit down and be quiet for 30 seconds, right? If I skip that, it was like, Okay, why did you skip that? It’s 30 seconds, anybody can do that. So sweat those small things that will then compound into bigger things. What is something small that you can do now, to get you towards your goals or to getting you feeling less stressed in this holiday season? Is that taking 30 seconds for yourself today to just breathe and relax and focus on You? Or maybe it’s just getting in a couple vegetables one time a day, because, you know, our diets are starting to look a little bit more like booze and cookies. So just adding in healthy things instead of having to go full blown – this is my diet and I can’t break my diet. It’s those small things that are really going to make the big changes.
