Happy December. And other than the holidays, we do have a theme this month. And it is all about taking care of you during hectic times, because you know, the times that you need to take care of yourself more than ever, is the times when you don’t really have the time to do it. I said “time,” a lot of times, but I think that made sense. The whole point of this month is carving out some time to take care of yourself. Just a little bit of time to breathe, relax, and just you know, quiet everything that’s going on. And all of this stimuli and tantrums and wants and needs and food and gifts and parties and all of that stuff and just take time to come back down and get in tune with yourself. And just enjoy some quiet. And Mama’s daily dose is…taking care of yourself in the hectic holiday season. Let’s get moving. Before we get interrupted.
As a mom, you already play so many roles, your show for your chef, your cleaner, your therapist, your cuddler your whatever it is that needs to be done at that time, or what your children and your family need. And then you pile on the holidays. And then you’re like the big guys helper…you’re wrapper. You’re a shopper. You’re like a caterer because you’re cooking for even more people and you’re cooking more often, you’re a baker, you’re a crafter, you’re whatever it is, there’s just all these other jobs that are piled on to you. So the time that you have for yourself, seems to dwindle and dwindle and dwindle. And it’s so easy to just put it on the back burner, like many people do with their goals and say, hey, I’ll get to it in January, I’ll get to it, then I’ll get to it later, just let me get through this holiday season. Let me get through this party. Let me get through that. And instead of getting through things, let’s take the time to really enjoy them. And how you do that is by being present and taking that time for yourself to to recharge. So you go into these events in these activities, with a little more patience with a little more presence and a little more excitement. So make sure you get that time for yourself. And I know I say this all the time, but it is even more needed in the next 31 days than it has been the rest of the year.
