100 – Appreciate what you’ve achieved. 100th episode celebration!

Hey Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Big celebration day over here – it is the 100th episode of Mama’s Daily Dose! I am so excited that you have been on this journey. And so appreciative to all of you that listen and tune in. And Mama’s Daily Dose is… appreciate what you’ve achieved. Let’s get moving, before we get interrupted.

When you have a big goal, it can be hard to appreciate those small little steps, and those small achievements that get you towards your big goal. And the other day, I was sitting on my front porch with my son in our rocking chair, and it was beautiful North Carolina fall weather. And I, it just dawned on me that this is what I dreamed of. Eight years ago, I dreamt of having a front porch with a rocking chair that I could just hang out on with my kids or watching my kids play in the front yard. And I have it. I am the future me of eight years ago of what I dreamt that I wanted for my future.

And often we are so focused on what we don’t have and what we want for the future that we forget that we really are already in the future of what we wanted from the past.

I also remember when I was coaching CrossFit, there was a girl that had this goal to lose 50 pounds. And she was kind of down on herself because she’s like, “I’ve lost 20 pounds, but I still have 30 pounds to go…like that’s cool that I lost 20 pounds, but 30 pounds is still more than what I’ve already lost.” And I looked at her and I was just like, you know, you need to celebrate what you’ve done, like 20 pounds, that’s a big deal! And she’s like, “yeah, I mean, it’s kind of a big deal. But I still have 30 pounds to lose.” I was like, “go pick up that kettlebell over there. That’s 20 pounds. And I just want you to hold it for two minutes, walk around the gym, stand around, whatever it is.” And after two minutes, she’s like, “Okay, I get it. 20 pounds is a lot. That is a big achievement.” And sometimes we need to just stop and really appreciate what we have and see how we’ve already made a lot of our goals and our dreams come true.

I want you to think of something today that past you could only dream about. You, 10 years ago, what were they dreaming about that you have now and just take a moment to really appreciate that. I am beyond appreciative of 100 episodes of Mama’s Daily Dose. And I have a big goal for this podcast. And I’m nowhere near it. But I am taking the time today to really appreciate all the hard work that has gone into the first 100 episodes of this podcast and everything that I put into it and how me six months ago dreamt of what I have today. Right now. Have a fabulous weekend and a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
