61 – Our children show us what we need

Hey Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Happy Monday, Mama’s Daily Dose is… our children, show us what we need. Let’s get moving, before we get interrupted.

This was a huge realization for me and a real game changer. And I’m gonna get a little woowoo for a moment, and that everything in our lives is a mirror, you know, we see our lives in a certain way, and it’s all mirroring ourselves back to us. No one else sees the world the way that we do. And there is no larger mirror in the world than our children. You know, when they’re just so upset, or they’re angry, and they’re frustrated, and they just need attention, or they just need a hug, or some physical touch. That’s really showing that that’s what you need too. They pick up on what our feelings are what we are exuding. Have you ever been, super angry or frustrated, and then your kid just becomes super angry or frustrated, or the opposite, like you are having a fantastic day, and you’re super happy and excited, and then your kids are having a super fantastic day, because they pick up on your vibe, and they need what you need. And you need, what they need. And that’s what they’re showing you. And it took me a while to realize this. But once I did, and I realized that, you know, sometimes all my kid needs is a hug, and to slow down and get some attention. That’s what I needed. I needed to slow down, I needed a hug, I needed to get some attention. So it’s just it’s a big realization. And it’s extremely freeing to look at your kids and be like, they’re doing this because that’s what I need. And it may not be like what you need right in the moment. But it may have been something that you needed in your childhood to and showing yourself that now is going to make a huge impact not only on your life, but on your children’s lives.

If you want to get a little more woowoo and learn a little bit more about this, a great book is by Debbie Ford, The Dark side of the Light Chasers. It has been just one of those mind blowing books for me and I’m definitely gonna have to go back and read it again. And you know what, have a great day free of mama guilt and I hope you have a fantastic week because you deserve it.
