Hey Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Following up on yesterday’s podcast, Mama’s Daily Dose is… do what makes you happy. Let’s get moving, before we get interrupted.
There are so many hobbies and businesses out there. And the Internet has just made it that you can find your people, whatever your interest is. If it’s that LARPing live action role playing, if it’s CrossFit, if it’s biking, chess, whatever it is, you can find people. Everyone has some kind of interest that is for themselves. Even if you are wrapped up and in the thick of it with your kids. There’s something that you enjoy doing. That is for you.
For me, I love working out and I love CrossFit. And people think that I’m crazy that what I enjoy doing is profusely sweating and slamming weights and doing gymnastics movements for an hour. But you know what? That’s what makes me happy. I might think it’s weird that it makes somebody happy to sit there and knit for an hour or two. I can’t do that. That’s, it’s just not me. But find what makes you happy. Do something for you. Who cares? If people think it’s crazy, we all do crazy stuff. It doesn’t matter what other people think. And whatever it is that you like to do, I guarantee you, there’s some other people out there that enjoy it, too.
Hey, so really, what would make you happy? What’s an activity you need to do? That will bring you joy, and go out and do it today, or put it on the calendar for a future date in ink, and do not erase it. And if you’re having some trouble finding your people, especially when it comes to mama friends and having those supportive people in your life, then I certainly have something for you.
