42 – Choosing YOUR hard

Hey Mama. This is Mama’s Daily Dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. Mama’s Daily Dose is… choosing YOUR hard. Let’s get moving, before we get interrupted.

I think we can all agree that life is hard. If it isn’t for you, then you are a unicorn. But no matter what you choose to do in life, you’re going to run across difficulties. A couple of weeks ago, in Episode 34, I talked about how staying the same is a totally valid choice. And that is taking an action and it is making decision. So if you’re unhappy with where you are now, that’s difficult. If you want to make a change, that’s difficult. You just have to choose which difficult or hard you want to take. An example that many women can relate to is, it’s difficult, being overweight or being unhappy with your body. But it is equally hard to make a change and lose the weight and make those lifestyle changes that you need in order to lose the weight.

As a mom, most of the decisions that we make I feel are hard. Like do you want to be a stay at home Mom? That’s hard. Do you want to be a working mom? That’s hard. Do you want to be a part time working? Mom? Do you want to be some combination of everything, all of it is difficult. But you have the choice of what hard you want. So if life’s going to be hard, in general, then why don’t you do something that you enjoy. Why do something that’s hard that you don’t enjoy, when you can do something that’s equally as hard that you do enjoy.

Mama, there’s something out there that you can do to go make yourself happy. And it doesn’t have to be some big change but choose something today that’s going to make you happy and have a great day free of mama guilt because you deserve it.
