Hey Mama. This is Mama’s daily dose. I’m Meghan Q Barrett of allyoumama.com. This week is a bit of a special one, it is my birthday week, My birthday is tomorrow, Tuesday, July 20. And I will be turning 35. So in honor of that the theme this week is the number five. Mamas Daily Dose is… “wake up just five minutes earlier.” Let’s get moving before we get interrupted.
Five minutes doesn’t sound like a whole lot. But honestly, five minutes is what changed my life at the end of 2020 when I was coming off of my anxiety medication from postpartum anxiety, and I just wasn’t sure what to do. And I didn’t like the way my days were starting with just whining and complaining. I decided, Hey, I’m just gonna wake up on my own terms. Five minutes before my kids you know, just get my vibe right and get my coffee in me while hot.
And I kid you not. Within two weeks, I was a completely different person. It sounds so small, but it’s those small changes that we make, and that you keep doing that compound and just make those big differences in our lives. So if you’re at a point right now, where you don’t really get much time to yourself during the day, and you’re waiting all day until evening at bedtime, when you can just get some time to yourself. I challenge you to wake up just five minutes early. And take that time at the beginning of the day for yourself. Because it can make the biggest difference and starting your day off on your terms that you get to decide how the rest of your day goes.
